Here are a few pointers garnered from others on the island: Location in relation to the beach. Oceanfront homes and villas rent for more than similar size homes not on the Ocean. The farther away you are from the ocean, the lower the rental rate will be but also the lower purchase price of the home. Who owns Fripp Island?
Fripp Island is a private, gated community, run by the Fripp Island Property Owners Association (FIPOA) since the mid-1980s. It is not a municipality though it maintains island operations via a public service district and property owners association. In addition to providing a security force and fire/rescue squad, the island also maintains its own bridges, roads, paths, parks, and beach access routes.
The Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort is owned and operated by Seascape Hospitality Group. Seascape founders Joe Guerra of Long Beach, Calif., and Adam Fuller of Atlanta manage the operations of the property through their management company. The resort owns and manages, among other things, several island features including the Beach Club Complex, the Cabana Club, two golf courses, the racquet club and various island pools.
