If you're looking for an engaging group outing, head over to the John Mark Verdier House. This amazing 1804 estate displays how Beaufort's wealthiest lived during the height of the pre-Civil War era. Guided tours are offered throughout the day Monday through Saturday. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this grand home has amazing design with a 4-story chimney, fine hand-carved mantels, ornate carvings and an amazing history.
