This is me 🌿 I’m Anne (she/her), hi! I’m a floral artist, flower design teacher/mentor a 187cm/6`2 tall modern day fairy 🧚🏼‍♀️

A quick personal life summary: born in 1986 / ⊙ ♏️ ☾ ♋️ ↑ ♋️ / ISFP-T / type 4 (yes I like personality tests ;)) / married to stijsen / no kids / proud cat mom of our girl Nalu 🐈‍⬛ / hobbies: photography, thrifting, gardening, gushing over this Earth`s beauty 🐚

I’m self employed and work from my studio in Soest, the Netherlands. There I create artful installations, dramatic arrangements & sets for brand shoots. And I host monthly live sessions for my online flower school members.

I’ve also had the pleasure of welcoming designers from all over Europe in my space for 1:1 masterclasses. And I taught international workshops in New York and Estonia. I’m sure more will follow!

I think these pics show my personality in a great way. Always carrying my heart on my sleeve, running around with branches and a camera (working with a perishable product only deepened my love for photography), laughing, making jokes, sitting in impossible pretzel shapes and admiring the tiniest details.

My work is an extension of me. My experiences, preferences and view on the world shine through. I often describe my work as a fairytale that escaped to reality. Magical, with a raw edge. Just like life itself. There’s always beauty and love and magic, but there’s also heartbreak and pain. And that’s okay. The darkness needs the light.

I think it’s clear you won’t find an Instagram facade here. I’d rather be real than perfect. I’d rather help you by sharing my struggles and let you learn from my mistakes than keeping up appearances.

🌿 Petals at Bibendum, Kensington, the prettiest flower stall, and such a great selection of blooms!
🌿 Moyses Stevens, with several shops, including Belgravia, and Chelsea, they stock beautiful bouquets
🌿 Neill Strain, Belgravia, luxurious floral arrangements which make the perfect gift
🌿 Bramble & Moss, Richmond, so lovely with that original shopfront and its curved window and floor tiles

How to get out of a creative rut:

🍂 Give yourself time & space to mess up - perfectionism never helped any project. If this doesn’t work for you, find a creative hobby that can help you to release some of the pressure.

🍁 Change the atmosphere in your room. Find different music, light, scents, make some interior changes, etc.

🍂 Look for inspiration outside your industry & style. Seeing flowers all day won’t put original ideas in your head - it will only reinforce the comparison game. Turn to art, fashion, music, food, a new museum, anything!

🍁 Work with other creatives. I made this flower cloud with macramé artist studioekru. It was so interesting & inspiring to see how she enhanced my flowers with her textile art.

🍂 Take a break. You can’t be ON all the time. My Northern Hemisphere friends are almost entering Winter. It’s completely normal to slow down this season, just like the rest of the natural world. Hibernation anyone? 🦔
