Bronco Wild Fund has donated 1 of 18 all-terrain wheelchairs to Hunting Island State Park. For individuals facing mobility challenges and who haven't had the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of Hunting Island State Park, there's now a chance, thanks to a generous contribution from the Ford Motor Company and its Bronco Wild Fund (BWF).
The BWF has provided all-terrain track chairs to 18 parks nationwide, including Hunting Island State Park in Beaufort County. These specially designed, battery-powered chairs feature wide and durable tracks, enabling visitors with different levels of mobility impairments to navigate the park's trails and beaches, areas that are usually inaccessible to conventional wheelchairs.
Visitors are encouraged to call the park to reserve the track chair at least 48 hours in advance to ensure availability. There is no additional charge to use the track chair, but a Park Passport or park admission is required for entry for all visitors.
